About the workshop

Health technology assessment now shapes what the Indian health system pays for, from the national immunisation schedule to the packages funded under PMJAY. The questions it answers come from clinicians and researchers, and the evidence it rests on is produced in institutes like this one. This one-day workshop is an introduction for anyone who wants to read that literature critically, judge whether a published cost-effectiveness claim deserves belief, and take part in producing it. It is built around the Indian Reference Case for health technology assessment, and every worked example is a published Indian study. Participants work in small groups on one real evaluation from their own field, carried through the whole day rather than read cold at the end. No prior training in health economics, modelling or statistics is required.
